Your thoughts stay on your device

The thoughts you drop into Pond — and the work you do on them — are stored locally on your device. They are not uploaded to us, and we cannot read them.

No account required

You don’t create an account to use Pond. We don’t ask for your name, email, or phone number to get started, so there’s no personal profile for us to hold.

No tracking

Pond doesn’t embed third-party advertising or analytics SDKs that follow you around. This website is the same: no cookie wall, no invasive trackers. If we ever measure traffic, it will be with a privacy-respecting, cookieless tool that doesn’t identify you.

Subscriptions

If you take out a Pond Premium subscription, your purchase is processed by Apple and by RevenueCat, a service we use to manage subscriptions. This involves limited purchase information and an anonymous identifier that isn’t linked to your identity — it tells us that a purchase happened, not who you are. It never includes your entries, and it isn’t used to advertise to you or track you across other apps or services.

Your data, your choice

Because your entries live on your device, you stay in control of them. Deleting the app removes its data from your device. If a future version of Pond offers optional features such as device backup or sync, they will be clearly optional and explained before you turn them on.

Children

Pond is intended for people aged 16 and over, and is not directed at children.
