One thing, done well

Pond doesn’t track your habits, your sleep, or your water intake. It does one thing: when a difficult thought shows up, you drop it into the pond and get on with your day. The thought will still be there when you have the space to deal with it — and so will the pond.

Catch and release

  • Catch it.
  • Leave it.
  • Return when you’re ready.

Challenging every thought the second it appears can become its own kind of compulsion. Pond lets you leave a thought in the water and come back to a few of them in one sitting, later, when you actually have the headspace. Or deal with one straight away, if it’s gnawing at you. You set the pace.

Three ways through

  • Examine the thought
  • Be kind to yourself
  • What can I control

Not every thought wants the same treatment. Some need their evidence weighed. Some need a gentler voice than the one in your head. Some just need sorting into what’s yours to carry and what isn’t. Pond offers all three, and you pick.

Watch the calm return

As you work through a thought, its fish turns to glass — still there, still honest about what it was, but clear now. The water settles around it. Nothing on screen is a score; the pond just looks the way things actually are.

Gratitude fish live here too — green ones, for the small good moments. No analysis needed.

Honest about how this works

Pond won’t promise instant relief. After you’ve worked through a thought it might still weigh something, and the app won’t pretend otherwise. You’re practising a skill. The more you practise, the more balanced thinking starts to happen on its own, before a thought ever reaches the pond.

Roger keeps you company along the way. He won’t nag you and he won’t guilt you. The pond is there when you’re ready.

Private by design

Your thoughts are stored on your phone. There’s no account to create and nothing sits on our servers — we couldn’t read your entries if we wanted to. If Pond ever offers backup or sync, it will be optional and off by default.

I built Pond because the thought-record worksheets that actually helped me lived in a notes app I dreaded opening. I wanted the same work to happen somewhere that felt worth returning to. — Donovan, Stillwater Labs
